What a night for the Trotter!

Well what a night for the VSTA
I R Lee was this years Gordon Rothacker medalist and how humble and gracious in his speech.
Dedicated his life to trotting and exactly the reason the medal was started to recognise his excellence to our beloved sport .
Ann-Maree’s mare Margret Ruth won 4 yo trotting mare and Mick won the Maori Idol trophy with Regeral Peperal .
Also a big congrats to our fellow country clubs association president Paul James on his distinguished service medal and Kate Gath on the Perl Kelly award.
The VSTA has a long history in our sport and it’s up to us to keep I R Lee’s legacy going (8 out of 10 races for trotters in the next 10 years is a big ask but Dick said it’s happening so it’s up to us to see it through or at least try our best)
I did mention it to John Davidson about recording/podcasting a interview with the legends of our sport a couple of weeks ago and watching Dick last night reminded me that these guys and girls won’t live for ever and once there gone there gone for ever and what a attraction to our Facebook/website it would be to have there voices and story’s there for eternity.
Congrats to all the winners
